护城河

前几天，我和爸爸、妈妈一起到西安玩儿。

a few days ago, i went to xi'an to play with my father and mother.

“爸爸，城墙下面怎么有条河？”

"dad, how can there be a river under the wall？"

“那叫护城河。”爸爸说。

"that's the moat." dad said.

“为什么有护城河？”

"why is there a moat？"

“它可以阻挡敌人的进攻。”妈妈说。

"it can stop the enemy's attack." mom said.

“它是什么朝代修的？”

"what dynasty was it built？"

“可能是明代的。”爸爸有些不肯定的说。

"probably in the ming dynasty." dad said with some uncertainty.

“古代人真聪明。”我摸了摸头说。

"the ancients were very clever." i touched my head and said.
